How to learn a puerto rican accent?
I’m not Puerto Rican, I’m Italian and I’m in a play. My character is Hector Lopez, the Puerto Rican handyman. In the past I have used Harry Potter audiobooks to learn a British accent, but I can’t find any recordings of the Puerto Rican accent in audiobook form. I have tried to look for Puerto Rican literature, but it is mostly Spanish, and it’s very difficult to look this stuff up. I do not know any Puerto Ricans that have an accent, and none live in my city. What is a better way to learn the accent…and quickly!
Don’t pronounce your S’s. Like in the word “mas” you say “mah”. Or “pescado” you would say “peca’o”.
